Key Features

- All 386 are catchable. You can catch every Clovermon between the two regions, no Wonder Trade needed.
- Trainers that switch. The AI swaps Pokémon, so build a team that can answer a switch-in.
- Soft level caps. EXP is limited until you beat the next boss, so grinding won’t save you.
- Fewer chores. TMs are reusable, HMs can be deleted, and catch chains boost your shiny odds.
- NewGame+. Your party moves to PC Box 1 and keeps its held items and Egg moves.
- Its own Showdown server. Link battles are buggy, so the developers point you there to battle other players.
What to Know Before Playing
The developers call Clover a parody of imageboard culture and Pokémon itself, so it’s crude on purpose, with black comedy aimed at grown-ups. A full run takes around 100 hours. Start a fresh save: files from the 2017 version don’t work, and the official FAQ says v1.3.3 saves won’t carry over to the planned v2.0 either.
How to Play
- Download the v1.3.3 patch (a zip) with the download button below.
- Have your own clean US FireRed 1.0 ROM, the one fans call “Squirrels” (CRC32 DD88761C).
- Patch it with the Rom Patcher JS tool on the developers’ download page, or open the zip’s BPS patch in a local tool such as Floating IPS. A checksum error means the ROM isn’t clean.
- Play the patched file in mGBA, which the developers recommend.
